Many of you out there may think drying your clothes on a clothesline is a bit inconvenient but given the fact that line drying is FREE, I would say give it a shot. According to this article from ( eHow ) you can save anywhere from $0.44 to $1.32 per load. Now depending on how much laundry you actually do will depend on how much you save per month.
For instance, let's say you did 10 loads of laundry per week at an average of $0.50 per load. If you dried all 10 loads on a clothesline you would save $5 per week. That would be a savings of $20-$25 per month savings depending on the month, since some are months 5 weeks!
Now let's multiply that weekly savings to 52 weeks per year. That is a $260 savings per year! And that's if you're on the lower end of the spectrum when it comes to electricity prices:) If you did the same math but used a $1 per load, that is an annual savings of $520 Per year!! $520 is nothing to scoff at;)
Other benefits are getting your lazy butt out of the house to breathe the fresh air;)
Home Savings Ideas
Get rid of your home phone!!
I remember for years I had both a cell phone, and a home phone. It got to a point to where I was using my cell phone almost entirely but I kept my home phone just in case. Then I finally asked myself "in case of what?"! When was I going to need it? LoL!
I wanted to encourage you guys to get rid of that home phone if you are never using it. It is literally just eating up your money and for what, so bill collectors or solicitors can call you? I know how much we all enjoy talking to them!! Grrr!!

You can normally purchase a water heater wrap/blanket as a kit for a 30 gallon, 40 gallon, 50 gallon, and so on.

So let's look at a couple things we can do to stop the vampire from sucking power and at the same time put money back in your wallet.

- When you're not using the appliance, unplug it.
- For the sake of keeping convenience you can plug all of the appliances into power strip and turn that strip off. Of course you would need to buy several and put them around your house but it would be well worth it considering you can save up to 20% on your electric bill per month!

Stop the vampire as I did, and save on your monthly bill!

Draft snake helps you save!
I don't know if any you guys remember these, but I sure do. As a matter of fact my cousin has one of these! Which is what spurred on this blog:)
According to the U.S. Department of Energy using a draft snake can improve your heating and cooling efficiency by 5%, all the way up to 30%!! That is a huge savings, considering that most of your monthly bill consists of cooling or heating your home!
During the Great Depression these draft snakes were utilized a lot! You can buy them and you can also make your own out of rolled up towels. The good thing about these is they are relatively cheap to buy:)
